Péter Besenyei to perform air show over Tisza River at Szeged Gin and Rum Gastro Festival

The 3rd Szeged Gin and Rum Gastro Festival will close with a world-class aerial show by aerobatics legend Péter Besenyei, organizers announced Thursday.

Festival organizer Attila Bodó revealed at the event’s 3 p.m. opening that Besenyei will perform a breathtaking air show over the Tisza River on Sunday at 5:30 p.m. The show’s highlight will be a daring maneuver as Besenyei flies under the Belvárosi Bridge, offering an unforgettable experience for visitors gathered in Móra Ferenc Park.

The four-day festival, which began Thursday, features premium spirits, celebrity chef cooking demonstrations and live music. Organizers say the air show will be the crowning event of this year’s program.

Besenyei is regarded as one of the world’s most influential aerobatic pilots and helped develop and launch the Red Bull Air Race series, winning its first overall world championship title in 2003. He is known for his daring stunts, including flying upside down under Budapest’s Chain Bridge in 2001.
