Szeged to host first Sounds of Szeged Picnic on Sunday, August 17
The inaugural Sounds of Szeged Picnic, a new open-air music event, will take place on Sunday, August 17, in Újszegedi Liget, on the grassy area between the Skatepark and Temesvári Boulevard, the organizers informed Szegedify.
The free event will run from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m., and attendees are encouraged to bring their own blankets, food, and drinks, as there will be no drink stands or vendor booths on-site.
The event is part of the Sounds of Szeged talent development initiative, launched two years ago to support and strengthen the city’s local music community. The program was founded by Gábor Gór-Nagy, who continues to lead the project with a focus on creating opportunities for musicians and building community through music.
In addition to concerts, a roundtable discussion in Hungarian will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m., featuring musicians, organizers, and managers discussing challenges and opportunities in the music industry.

Organizers encourage participants to bring outdoor games and spend the day enjoying music and conversation in the park.
