Goodwill Pharma becomes naming sponsor for Szeged water polo teams

Goodwill Pharma took over as naming sponsor for Szeged’s men’s and women’s water polo teams, the club announced Monday.

From July 1, the teams compete under the name SZVE Goodwill Pharma Fortacell, referencing one of the company’s product lines.

István Nagy, president of the Szegedi Vízilabda Egylet (SZVE), said the partnership continued a trend of health industry companies supporting water polo in Hungary. He called Szeged one of the sport’s largest regional hubs, with many young players, and said the club remained committed to developing homegrown talent.

“This kind of support is a big draw for children,” Nagy said, adding that health maintenance has become increasingly important for players. He said the team aimed to make use of as many of the company’s products as possible.

Ferenc Jójárt, chairman and CEO of Goodwill Pharma, said the sponsorship aligned with the company’s mission to emphasize prevention alongside treatment. He noted that the Fortacell brand, designed to support the immune system, was intentionally included in the new team name.

He expressed hope for a long-term, fruitful partnership with the club.

The Szeged-based pharmaceutical and healthcare company described itself in a press release as an internationally recognized firm committed to promoting a health-conscious lifestyle, including support for sports and youth development.

The name change takes effect with the start of the 2025–26 season. The sponsorship agreement runs for three seasons.

Szeged’s men’s team finished seventh in Hungary’s OB I league last season, while the women’s team placed eighth.
