BYD career day and Chinese Spring Festival to be held at SZTE on Feb. 19
SZEGED, Hungary – The University of Szeged will host the SPRING FESTIVAL – BYD Career & Chinese Culture event on Feb. 19 at the József Attila Study and Information Center (TIK), offering students career insights and a celebration of Chinese traditions.
The program is jointly organized by Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer BYD, the university’s Career Office and the Confucius Institute at SZTE. The event is designed to introduce participants to career opportunities at BYD while also highlighting Chinese cultural heritage.
From 9 a.m. to noon, attendees can learn about BYD’s operations and internship opportunities. Students from six faculties of the University of Szeged became eligible for new professional internship and traineeship placements following a strategic framework agreement signed by the university and BYD on Dec. 3, 2025. Company representatives from various professional fields will be available to answer questions, and participants can gain insight into Chinese business culture – from foundational principles to negotiation practices.
The afternoon program, scheduled from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., will focus on cultural activities organized by the Confucius Institute. Visitors can take part in interactive experience stations featuring Chinese calligraphy, Chinese chess, mask painting and traditional tea ceremonies, as well as introductory Chinese language activities.
Creative workshops will offer opportunities to make Spring Festival window decorations and paper lanterns. The program will also include a quiz on Chinese culture, followed by a New Year’s raffle marking the Chinese New Year, which begins on Feb. 17, 2026.
Participation is free of charge. Advance registration is not required, but organizers ask attendees to indicate their intention to participate via the event’s online registration link. More information is available on the official Facebook event page.
