University of Szeged launches free psychological counseling for BTK students
The University of Szeged’s Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (SZTE BTK) will launch a new psychological counseling service in February 2026, offering free, in-person support to its students in response to the growing mental health and life-management challenges faced during university years.
Through the newly established BTK Psychological Counselling service, students enrolled in bachelor’s, master’s, undivided, and PhD programs will be eligible for up to five counseling sessions per academic year. The consultations will be available in both Hungarian and English and will be conducted by experienced professionals with extensive backgrounds in higher education.
The service is designed to support students dealing with a wide range of issues, including stress, anxiety, academic difficulties, career planning, relationship conflicts, cultural adjustment, and decision-making challenges. University officials emphasized that all counseling sessions will be held under strict confidentiality.
Students can apply by sending an email to pszichohelp.btk@szte.hu, including their phone number, Neptun code, degree program, and a brief description of the issue they wish to address, along with the change they hope to achieve. The aim of the service is to provide assistance as quickly and effectively as possible.
The counseling sessions will take place at 6722 Szeged, Petőfi Sándor sgt. 30 – 32, 4th floor, Room 02. Further information about the BTK Psychological Counselling service is available on its official webpage.
