Belvárosi Cinema’s VR Game Room extends hours, adds new equipment and games

Belvárosi Cinema (Belvárosi Mozi) in Szeged has expanded the opening hours of its VR Game Room and introduced new virtual reality equipment and games for the summer season, according to a press release from the cinema.

The Game Room now welcomes visitors from Wednesday to Sunday between 1 p.m. and 8 p.m. Sessions are 50 minutes long and cost 2,200 forints per VR headset.

The upgrade includes new Meta Quest 3 headsets, which offer improved comfort and more freedom of movement compared to the previously used HTC Vive Pro devices. The older headsets will now be used exclusively for the VR Cinema Station, which offers immersive short films.

New single-player games available include Blade and Sorcery, I Am Cat, Pistol Whip, Open Brush, Epic Roller Coasters, Job Simulator, The Climb 2, and Vader Immortal: Episode I. Multiplayer options include Arizona Sunshine 2, Beat Saber, Earthquest, Horror Simulator, and Pavlov.

The VR Cinema Station features virtual experiences such as walking the streets of New York, visiting the Maldives, motorcycling through the Swiss Alps, riding a rollercoaster, exploring Salvador Dalí’s surreal world, or adventuring on the planet Tatooine.

The VR Game Room originally opened after Belvárosi Cinema’s 2019 renovation. The latest upgrades were carried out as part of the “Film Art For All” project, with support from the Interreg VI-A IPA Hungary–Serbia Cooperation Program.
