More than 300 medical students celebrate graduation milestone in Szeged
More than 300 fifth-year medical students from the Albert Szent-Györgyi Medical School of the University of Szeged marked a major milestone today with a celebratory procession and graduation ceremony.
Students, friends, and relatives gathered at Dóm Square, taking selfies and capturing group photos in one of their final shared moments before entering the next phase of their medical careers.
Mária Dux, vice dean for education at the Albert Szent-Györgyi Medical School, addressed the students in both Hungarian and English before starting the procession. She encouraged them to take pride in their hard work and to embrace the responsibility of lifelong learning in the medical profession.
“You still have your clinical year and state exams ahead,” Dux said. “You’ve chosen a profession that requires ongoing growth. Continue expanding your knowledge and use it to serve your future patients. Strive to be influential and exemplary members of society.”
Following the address, graduates processed through the university’s clinical district, beginning at Dóm Square, then Korányi Fasor and continuing along Semmelweis Street, Markovics Iván Street, Vitéz Street, and Zászló Street, before reaching Ady Square and arriving at the József Attila Study and Information Center, where they received their diplomas.
