Szeged to host New Year’s Eve celebration at Széchenyi Square

Szeged will mark New Year’s Eve on Dec. 31, 2025, with a free outdoor celebration at Széchenyi Square, the city’s main square.

The city center will come alive with live music, fireworks, and public festivities to welcome the new year. The program begins at 19:00 with a warm-up DJ set, followed by a concert by the Traubi Band at 20:00. At 23:00, Zanzibár will take the stage ahead of the midnight countdown.

At midnight, a fireworks display will light up the sky above City Hall, which stands on Széchenyi Square. The celebration continues with another set by Zanzibár at 00:15, followed by a performance by Útközband — a popular festival act in Szeged — starting at 00:30.

Party supplies, including masks, horns, and confetti, will be available for purchase at Széchenyi Square from Dec. 27.

The New Year’s Eve program at Széchenyi Square is free and open to the public.
