41st Hungarian Press Photo Exhibition open in Szeged
The 41st Hungarian Press Photo Exhibition can now be seen at Klauzál Square, Szeged.
269 photographers applied for the competition with 2443 entries - a total of 6810 images - all taken in 2022. A selection of award-winning images - unique entries and photo series - can be visited for free at Klauzál Square until the middle of January.
The 41st Hungarian Press Photo Exhibition, organized by the Photojournalist Department of MÚOSZ — the National Association of Hungarian Journalists — and supported by the Robert Capa Contemporary Photography Center, originally opened with the award ceremony on April 12, 2023, in Budapest.
After Budapest, the exhibition tours the country, visiting some of the largest cities throughout Hungary.
The Hungarian Press Photo Contest and Exhibition has served for the last 41 years as the largest showcase of photojournalism in Hungary. This year's awarded photos document various topics in the country and abroad, including social, health, and environmental issues, as well as sports, news, and everyday life.
The Grand Prize of the 41st Hungarian Press Photo Contest, offered by MÚOSZ, was won by István Huszti, photojournalist at Telex, with his photo report titled Fragments, made in Ukraine.
Bálint Szajki, photojournalist of 24.hu, won the André Kertész Grand Prize of the 41st Hungarian Press Photo Contest with his photo report entitled In Health and in Sickness.

According to plans, the 41st Hungarian Press Photo Exhibition can be visited in Szeged until (at least) January 12, 2024.
