JFF+ Japanese film festival 2023 online streaming free of charge, first period until March 15

JFF+ Japanese film festival 2023, with select films, is now available worldwide, including in Hungary. The JFF+ Independent Cinema festival features 12 films, of which 6 are available during the first streaming period until March 15, and another 6 in the second period between March 15 and June 15, 2023.

The 2023 festival films were selected by the managers of the so-called “mini-theaters”. In Japan, independent theaters that are not part of large multiplexes are called "mini-theaters," and more than 100 can be found throughout the country. Similarly to European art cinemas, mini-theaters offer a unique lineup of screenings with a focus on artistic films and documentaries. They continue to play an important role in nurturing the diversity of Japanese cinema culture.

The online film festival also features interview videos with directors and actors, and interview articles with managers of the mini-theaters, to bring viewers from all around the world closer to the current Japanese cinema culture.

Online streaming of the 2023 Japanese Film Festival+ is free of charge, and available worldwide, except in Japan and a few other countries. The festival films can be watched with English or Spanish subtitles.
