The 2nd Stonewall Tattoo Convention will take place on October 25–26, at the Fekete Sas Rendezvényház in Hódmezővásárhely.

One hundred and one tattoo artists will participate in the event, which is not only an exhibition but also a competition with 21 categories for artists to enter, Tamás “Tinti” Jószai, the organizer of the event, told Szegedify.

The participating tattoo artists come from across Hungary, joined by international guests from Belgium, Poland, and Slovakia. The jury will consist of internationally acclaimed tattoo artists, including one member from Italy, who will also hold an English-language workshop for professionals during the convention.

The event consists of outdoor and indoor programs, with the outdoor programs free of charge. In the area in front of the Fekete Sas Rendezvényház, visitors will be able to see vintage vehicles, a newly rebuilt graffiti wall featuring fresh artworks, and the Trial Bike Szeged team’s trial bike demonstrations. After dark, the Fire Fantasy Szeged fire-juggling group will perform again.

Indoor programs will be accessible with admission. Among the stage acts, the French dance trio Trium Parkae will perform on both days, while the Magic Poledance team will return with new routines. On both days, tattoo artists will compete in 21 categories, and the traditional Suspension Show (18+) will also be part of the indoor program.

This year’s music lineup will cater to metal fans: on Saturday night, Budapest-based Paeditrition (core-grind) will perform, followed by the Norwegian black metal band Keiser from Trondheim. The convention will close on Sunday with Symphony of Symbols, a death metal band from Szeged.

Families with small children are also welcome — the kids’ corner will offer free face painting and slide film screenings throughout the weekend.

Tickets will be available on site at last year’s venue: day tickets cost 5,000 forints, weekend passes 8,000 forints, while admission is free for children under 5, and 2,000 forints for ages 5–14.
