After a two-year break, the International Tisza Fish Festival returns to Szeged on September 2-4, 2022. The festival programs will span both sides of the River Tisza.

During the Fish Festival, the Quay on the Szeged side of the Tisza will host a handicraft market, and traditional inns' food stalls offering fish dishes. Wineries and breweries will also be present. Fish soup will be cooked in giant cauldrons at the remains of the former water bastion, next to Móra Ferenc Museum.

Apart from food, drinks, and the craft market, DJs and music bands will join the festival to entertain visitors. On Friday, the first performance starts at 2:30 p.m., while on Saturday and Sunday at 12 p.m. (12:00).

Partfürdő, on the Újszeged side of the river, will host a traditional fish soup cooking competition on Saturday, September 3. During the competition, participants will use their treasured - often secret - recipes and cook in their own cauldrons.
