Two Szeged restaurants get listed in the first Michelin Guide Hungary

Two Szeged restaurants, the Alabárdos, led by chef Pál Tóth, and the Alkimista Kulináris Műhely by Krisztina Katkó, got listed in the first dedicated Michelin Guide Hungary. Both restaurants received a Michelin Plate - basically a recommendation that is not yet a star or an award - in the 2023 Guide, as revealed at the awards gala on November 3.

Both Alabárdos Szeged and Alkimista Kulináris Műhely posted about the event and the results on social media, stating how honored and proud they are to be included in the prestigious guide, and congratulating the other awardees.

The Michelin Guide, which until now only rated Budapest restaurants, published a restaurant list for all of Hungary for the first time this year. The 2023 national guide recommends a total of 62 restaurants in 33 cities, towns, and villages all over the country.

The awards gala on Thursday evening revealed two new 2-Michelin-star restaurants, seven 1-Michelin-star restaurants (including two new), six Good Value Michelin Bib Gourmands, and four Michelin Green Stars. The full list of restaurants, including the ones that received a Plate, is available on the Michelin website or in the Michelin application.
